Final Thoughts

There’s a lot more parity in the NHL these days and that can be attributed to the league’s salary cap which was introduced in 2005/06. The days of Stanley Cup dynasties may now be a thing of the past because of this but it’s still conceivable for a team to win a couple of cups in a row.

As far as Canadian teams winning a Stanley Cup goes, the drought has reached almost 30 years and it’s really anybody’s guess when another Canadian club will skate around the rink holding the trophy aloft.
