Hockey Response is a blog all about hockey. You will find answers to your basic hockey questions, NHL questions, and detailed gear reviews made by real life players.

Jamie PenneyFounder, CEO and Writer Jamie is the founder of Hockey Response. He is the chief writer and the lead editor. Jamie currently lives in Vancouver, BC but he grew up in Newfoundland playing hockey. He also played Jr A level hockey. Jamie has coached several kids hockey camps and he was the assistant coach (Defenseman Coach) to the Western Kings NLMMHL. Jamie was the defenseman of the year in NL and won a provincial championship as a rookie Western Kings player. Jamie has been playing hockey for over 20 years. EliteProspects. Ian PalmerSports Writer Ian is an experienced ice hockey writer with a passion for the game. He has been covering hockey for over 25 years and has contributed to various publications including Sports Xpress, Hockey Now, Pucky.com, Honest Hockey, Brave Stick Hockey and HBO Sports. He covers all aspects of the sport, from NHL rules to in-depth analysis of the game as well as previews. Ian is also an avid fan who attends numerous games and has played hockey regularly since moving to Canada at the age of 10. |
Why Hockey Response?
Hockey has always been a passion of mine. Growing up in Newfoundland it was my life. I was on the ice 4 to 6 days a week and when I wasn’t my friends and I were likely playing ball hockey or mini sticks. Hockey is a huge part of who I am and that is why I decided to create a website dedicated to sharing my knowledge about the sport. I enjoy sharing answers to simple hockey questions, digging into the rule books, but most importantly I enjoy reviewing the gear.
Hockey gear has been evolving rapidly over the last 20 years, if you are just starting out you probably are unaware of all the new types of gear and what hockey curve you should choose. So here I am, ready to share all I know to answer the questions you may have.
