Comfort on the ice is essential in hockey, with every piece of equipment playing a crucial role in a player’s performance. Nowhere is this more evident than in the selection of hockey gloves, which directly influence stick handling and puck control. Young NHL sensation Connor Bedard is a testament to this. His amazing puck handling and astoundingly quick shot release can, in part, be attributed to the gloves he trusts on the ice.
Connor Bedard uses a custom pair of Sherwood Rekker Element Pro hockey gloves. They have a name bar on top that says “Bedard” and the gloves color is all black, with white text, and a red line design that matches nicely with the Blackhawks uniform.
Many people would assume that he would use their top-of-the-line glove, the Sherwood Rekker Legend Pro hockey gloves, well maybe because he was wearing them in the Sherwood hockey promotional videos and photos. However, after his first couple of NHL games it is easy to tell Bedard is wearing smaller more compact gloves.
If you look at the pattern on the gloves you can tell they are not the Rekker Legend Pro gloves, the main giveaway is that there is no ‘Pro Flex Thumb’ extra padding next to his thumb. The pattern up the index finger is the exact same as the Rekker Element Pro gloves. However, these are custom because of the custom back of the hand section which is one solid piece of padding instead of 3 pieces like the retail version of the RE Pro gloves.

Sherwood Rekker Element Pro Hockey Gloves present a perfect blend of elite protection while at an affordable price point.
These gloves are smaller and do not feel as bulky as some top-level gloves are these days. The snug feel along with the tapered design help you get that close-to-the-body feel that you want when controlling the puck.
Their exterior is constructed of a durable pro polyester combined with a cable knit nylon construction, giving the gloves a distinct professional appearance. For safety, there is tripe-density foam throughout the fingers, backhand, and finger block. You even have extra impact resistance on the backhand to protect against slashes, plus the plastic insert above your wrist protects you even more.
The palm stands out with an ivory nash base featuring an embossed grip and a mesh window, ensuring hands remain dry to help you keep a good grip on your twig no matter what.
The material inside is even designed to help combat odor-causing bacteria, which us hockey players know, hockey gloves can get stinky after a lot of use.
Lastly, these gloves are designed for sharpshooters, no wonder Connor Bedard is using them. The glove’s Pro Flex thumb, without too much padding, supports optimal motion, and its Pro Nash palm offers a game-ready comfy feel and top-level performance.
