Perhaps one of the most underrated goalies from his era, Marc-André Fleury has an impressive ledger of accolades to his name. Nicknamed “Flower,” Fleury’s fluid goalminding has awed fans for decades. Fleury was a long-time Pittsburgh Penguin, being drafted first overall by them in 2003. He has also played for the Las Vegas Golden Knights and Chicago Blackhawks. While maybe not considered to be one of the greats, Fleury’s finesse in goal has led him to multiple playoff runs, begging the question: how many Stanley Cups has Marc-André Fleury won?
Marc-André Fleury has won 3 Stanley Cups in his career. All of them coming with the Pittsburgh Penguins, he was a part of the Cup teams in 2009, 2016, and 2017. While he did not receive any individual awards for his role on those teams, he provided essential leadership and quality play to contribute.
Stanley Cup 2008-2009: Pittsburgh Penguins vs Detroit Red Wings
This series was an absolute brawl, much to the dismay of Penguins and Red Wings fans. The series was a repeat of the Stanley Cup finals the previous year in which the Red Wings won in 6 games. This time, the Penguins got their revenge on Detroit, winning the series in a long 7 games. Fleury played in all seven games, facing a staggering 195 shots against. However, Fleury was pulled in Game 5 after allowing five goals and was replaced by Mathieu Garon for the remainder of the game.
Despite this slight hiccup, Fleury rallied the team to a series win, finishing with a .913 save percentage. Most notably, Fleury came up big in game 7, saving 23 of 24 shots and making a last-second diving save to win the Cup.

Stanley Cup 2015-2016: Pittsburgh Penguins vs San Jose Sharks
Fleury was a huge part of getting the Penguins to the playoffs this year. The team started slow and then rallied around Fleury to win enough games to sneak into the playoffs. However, Flower suffered a serious concussion towards the end of the season and wasn’t able to suit up until the Eastern Conference Finals.
Despite being healthy for the Cup finals, Fleury was benched in favor of up-and-comer Matt Murray and did not play in the Finals. It should be noted that Fleury was a pivotal leader for this team, so while he may not have contributed on the ice, his impact was intangible.
Stanley Cup 2016-2017: Pittsburgh Penguins vs Nashville Predators
Again, Fleury was benched for Matt Murray in the Cup Finals this year. Despite this, Fleury was instrumental in leading the Pens to the finals, as Murray was injured for the first two rounds. While disappointing that he did not participate, he was again a major leader for the team off the ice, helping him earn his third Stanley Cup.
Stanley Cup 2017-2018: Las Vegas Golden Knights vs Washington Capitals
Fleury was taken in the NHL Expansion Draft the following year, joining the Las Vegas Golden Knights and eventually winning his first Vezina Trophy in 2021. However, he got a shot at a fourth Stanley Cup with the Knights in his first year with the team, making it his third straight Stanley Cup Finals.
Being their mainstay goalie throughout the season, Fleury was essential in leading Vegas to the Cup Finals in their first year as a team. After an incredible playoff run, Fleury played in all 5 games against his former rivals, the Washington Capitals.
Flower posted a .853 save percentage in the series against 136 shots. Despite their best efforts, the Golden Knights fell to the Capitals, awarding Alex Ovechkin his first and only Stanley Cup. Fleury stayed with Vegas until 2021 when he joined the Chicago Blackhawks.
